Bicyclist fails to signal, is struck by car

Corvallis resident Christopher Lightening suffered minor injuries when he was hit by a car after failing to signal while making a left turn on his bike, according to the Oregon State Police.
The accident occurred on the corner of 35th Street and Jefferson Way at 3:25 p.m. Monday.
Kay Bomber was driving her van south on 35th Street and didn't see Lightening attempt to make a left turn in front of her, police said.
Police reports say that Lightening flew off his bike, hit the hood of Bomber's van and smashed the driver's side window.
Lightening only suffered minor injuries and was cited for failing to signal a turn. Bomber was not injured or cited.
