We've heard all about how the current economic conditions will affect OSU in the upcoming years: Enrollment tends to increase during a recession, but potential tuition hikes as forecasted by the Oregon legislature may hinder future students from attending a university or even force some to leave.

Innovation is often said to be a function of necessity. In war, in business competition and in exploration, innovation frequently emerges as a solution to a specific problem, and only later becomes known as a revolutionary change. In the near future, the advent of space exploration will be likely lead to a similar situation, in which the rigors and rewards of space will lead to a peculiar set of environmental pressures.

If it would please the reader, I would like to discuss a subject that has been near and dear to my heart for almost 10 minutes: dinosaur bones and civil construction. Those pesky remnants of bygone beasts always seem to show up in the most unwelcome places, don't they? Summer is the season of weddings. I've spent a lot of days of my life being forced into frilly little dresses and dragged to weddings by my parents, but this is the first year that I've crossed that threshold of true adulthood and attended the weddings of my own friends.
