OSU welcomes new dean of student life
Mamta Accapadi, a University of Texas alumna, will begin as the new dean of student life March 2, 2009
Effective March 2, 2009, there will be a new dean of student life at OSU.
After an extensive national search, a search committee has chosen University of Texas alumna Dr. Mamta Accapadi.
Accapadi currently serves as the assistant director of the Multicultural Information Center at the University of Texas at Austin.

Campaign for OSU steps in for Oregon Opportunity Grant
Bridge to Success covered OOG's shortfall for fall and winter term; Campaign for OSU will pick up slack in spring
In its first year, OSU's Bridge to Success program lived up to its name by providing much-needed funding to students who were on track to receive reduced Oregon Opportunity Grant (OOG) scholarships for this school year.
However, although Bridge to Success was able to cover the OOG shortfall for fall and winter term, they were not able to come up with the necessary funds for spring term.
Oldest Beaver fan celebrates landmark birthday
Rosie Oatman celebrated her birthday in style on Saturday with friends, family and an appearance by the OSU band
Guests wearing orange and black sat in their chairs clapping to the sounds of OSU's band at a Beaver-themed birthday party in celebration of Rosie Oatman's life in Philomath last Saturday.
From a distance, this looked to be just another Beaver-themed birthday party until closer observation of the birthday girl triggered the realization that she wasn't the average Beaver fan.
OSU student struck by pickup truck in alleyway
Fraser, 24, suffered a fractured skull and believes that he was hit intentionally
OSU student Andy Fraser was hit by a silver pickup truck at about 1 a.m. on Jan. 8 while walking with three friends up the alleyway between Northwest 25th and Northwest 26th Streets.
Fraser and his friends were leaving a low-key night at Bombs Away Café when a silver pick-up truck, about the size of a Ford Ranger, turned quickly into the alley from Harrison Boulevard and barreled toward them, witnesses said.
OSU football players visit kids at Shriner's Hospital for Children
Motivated by player Mitchel Hunt, football team heads
Six members of the OSU football team took time away from Corvallis to visit patients at the Shriner's Hospital for Children in Portland on Saturday.
Team members Will Darkins, Mitchel Hunt, Justin Kahut, Castro Masaniai, Sioeli Nau and Marcus Perry brought smiles to the patients and families with their visit.
