Pettit goes for round two
Pettit follows his dreams from chemical engineering to the International Space Station
NASA astronaut and OSU alumnus Don Pettit is scheduled to make his second trip to the International Space Station aboard the space shuttle Endeavour. The launch is scheduled for Nov. 14 out of the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
The mission STS-126 includes Pettit and five other crew members.
Veterinary care for Nicaraguan pets
Vets provide free veterinary care to pets for ten days annually
Students in OSU's International Veterinary Students Association (IVSA) will go to Isla de Ometepe, Nicaragua this December to provide veterinary care and public education.
"As far as we know, just from speaking to the local residents, there's really no consistent vet care there," said Austin Bell, a third year veterinary student who traveled to Central America last year with the IVSA group and will return this year.
University holds first-ever Muslim welcome evening
Internationally-inspired event gives opportunity to welcome students, learn about Islam
OSU hosted its first-ever Muslim Welcome Reception in the MU Thursday. It provided not only an opportunity for Muslim students to come and be welcomed, but gave all members of the campus community a chance to learn about Islam.
The event presented speakers who explained the fundamentals of Islam while correcting many of the misconceptions surrounding the religion.
OSU Foundation on its way to goal of $625 million
Foundation focuses on raising money to fund scholarships, expand opportunities
In the last fiscal year, the OSU Foundation raised over $16 million, increasing the campaign total to $450 million.
A large portion of this money will be directed toward providing merit- and need-based scholarships to both undergraduate and graduate students at OSU.

Dealing with unfair landlords seems like a typical problem college students face, but thanks to the Legal Advising Office available at OSU, it is one that can be solved.
The ASOSU Office of Legal Advising is supported by student fees and is free to students.

12:55 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, - A Trek 4100 silver men's mountain bike ($350 Value) was reported stolen from Callahan Hall. It was locked with a cable lock that was missing.
12:49 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21 - A Russian passport was reported stolen from Kidder Hall room 108E.
