Permanent birth control choices redefine my identity as a woman

If you paid attention during sex ed in middle school, you'd know about the plethora of birth control options out there - abstinence, condoms, spermicide, withdrawal, ovulation timing, the patch, the shot, the pill, the ring, vaginal contraceptive film, IUD's, and sterilization.

Why is our education like this?

Education today, whether public or private, is centered around a strict division: there are educators, those with knowledge; and the students, those without knowledge. The result is the stagnation of ideas, the taming of radicalism, and the preservation of the status quo.

Reality about ASOSU

It pains me to write this column. It's difficult for me to criticize ASOSU because I worked there last year as the Director of Women's Affairs and I know how hard people work and how much they wish to serve the students as best they can. Many of us traded in our social lives, academics, and other jobs that could have better paid for rent and food, to work far longer hours than our stipends covered and make the most of our positions.
