Yea to Jackie Balzer, the dean of student life, who will be missed when she leaves OSU after this term. Too bad we never had lives she had to deal with, otherwise we'd say she did a really great job. Point, Jackie.

Walking in Japanese footsteps
People in my family have often told me, "If you don't know where you come from, then you won't know where you're going."
This past week I visited the Nikkei Legacy Center and found out where the Japanese-Americans of Oregon have been and where they are going.
Do you speak English?!
Like many other students on our campus, I've had the chance to study a foreign language during my time at OSU.
I wasn't forced or even pressured to do so; I merely knew I wanted to go abroad and opted to get a head start on the language.
My plans were taking me to Italy, and it seemed only right to take Italian in preparation.

Put away your biases
Johnson says of the UO, "I see the Ducks doing all these crazy things in football, year in and year out, sort of masking the fact that their team isn't that good." He calls them "mediocre," and that at "no point has Oregon ever been good enough to compete for a national titleā¦"
Over the past 10 years, Oregon Football has gone 91-45.
