Amy Leer can be defined by many as a teacher, mentor and a friend. Having taught at OSU for six years, Leer, an instructor in women studies, has decided that it's time to explore new horizons. As fall term comes to an end, Leer will grade her last test and bid adieu to OSU.

Anyone who knew Alex Frassenei will say that he loved life. From road trips to Washington for a cup of coffee, to a blissful sleep on a newly renovated hardwood floor of his fraternity house, Frassenei was at the happiest point in his life. He passed away on Nov.

Sitting in her office with her dog running around, Dawn Wright has mixed emotions. She feels surprised, humbled and extremely honored that she was named Oregon's Professor of the Year. "It's a neat award that they set up," said Wright, a professor in geosciences.

Clinic provides health services to the uninsured

The Oregon health care system isn't perfect. For those who fall through the cracks and don't qualify for the Oregon Health Plan or can't afford private health insurance, there are the Community Outreach, Inc. Medical Clinics. The Community Outreach Medical Clinics provide five medical clinics per week - three at the Corvallis facility, one clinic in Albany and one in Lebanon.

Santa comes to town

Do not become alarmed by a large sparkled tree or a man dressed up in a Santa suit running around the MU quad today. It's the College Republicans showing OSU a little Christmas spirit. "We saw that there weren't really any Christmas events happening, so we decided to put one on," said Reece Hrizuk, the state chairman of the College Republicans and a junior in political science.
