Ta'Tyana McElroy doesn't give up easily. The senior softball pitcher, who turned 22 on Monday, rarely fails to accomplish any goal she's set her sights on whether it's in school, softball or life.
"It was just persistence that helped me to get to where I'm at now," she said.

It is generally every college football player's dream, and it came true for four Oregon State Beavers on Saturday and Sunday. Safety Sabby Piscitelli was drafted in the second round of the NFL draft on Saturday, going to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The New York Giants then selected tackle Adam Koets in the sixth round.

Canadian Jill Sawatzky becomes fifth recruit to join Oregon State volleyball team this offseason on Wednesday
Jill Sawatzky has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Oregon State volleyball program in the fall, head coach Taras Liskevych announced Wednesday.
Sawatzky, a 6-foot outside hitter from St. Andrews, Manitoba, Canada, is currently a senior at Lord Selkirk Secondary and also plays for Club West.
Upcoming baseball game with Portland canceled
In-state rival schools have played each other twice all ready this season with Oregon State taking both games
The baseball game between ninth-ranked Oregon State and Portland set for May 15 in Corvallis has been canceled. The game was called off by mutual agreement between the coaches at the two schools; fans who had purchased single-game tickets for the contest will automatically be refunded.
DeVan again makes Rimington Trophy Watch List
Senior lineman, who has started every game for Oregon State in last two seasons, is nominated on Wednesday for nation's top center award for second straight season
For the second consecutive year Oregon State University center Kyle DeVan has been selected to the Rimington Trophy Watch List. DeVan, a native of Vacaville, Calif., is one of 46 players on the preseason list that recognizes the top center in college football.
