Experts say many factors play role in setting cost of books
"We know textbook prices are too high," said Steve Eckrich, General Manager and CEO of the OSU Bookstore. "We're doing everything we can to keep prices as low as possible." College textbook prices have increased steadily over the past two decades, at twice the rate of annual inflation, according to a study performed by the Government Accountability Office.

Success of signature campaign means plan will face student vote
Members of the ASOSU Environmental Affairs Task Force submitted the completed petition for the Green Energy Fee to ASOSU President Mike Olson today. Because of the collected 1,731 signatures, the initiative will likely appear on the general election ballot for student government positions later this term.

Arrests 7 p.m., Thursday, March 29 - A Corvallis woman, 26, was arrested for stealing multiple shirts from Urban Laundry totaling $207. She hid the items in her purse. 8:16 p.m., Friday, March 30 - A Corvallis man, 23, was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants.
