Two local business found to be part of drug trafficking and money laundering organization
At least two Corvallis locations were busted for drugs, cash and guns Wednesday, Mar. 14, after the Corvallis Police Department - in a cooperative effort - served search warrants in the Mid-Willamette Valley.

Power outages leave students in the dark
As of Mar. 21, crews restored power to the south side of campus
Monday night several buildings on campus were entombed in darkness after the power went out. At 8:47 p.m. the underground wire system along the corner of Northwest 26th Street and Southwest Washington Way had an electrical malfunction. The malfunction shut down the power at the Dixon Recreational Center, Arnold Dining Center, Gill Coliseum, Finley hall and Bloss hall.

Greggory Peat, 19, a sophomore in business administration, was convicted Monday of furnishing alcohol to a minor that resulted in the death of Lance Strickland in 2005.

Class project creating new playground
Teams work on different tasks to bring new playground to Old Mill
Students enrolled in professor Sandra Neubaum's Organizational Behavior class are collaborating with Corvallis' Old Mill Center for Children and Families to help design, organize and raise funds for a new playground.
There are 80 students, divided into 13 teams, who put their textbook knowledge of business and marketing into a practical solution for the center.

Looking at herself now, liberal arts senior Dalena Spiritsong, 64, no longer sees who she used to be - an alcoholic, a person who was lost and unsure of who she was. Now, she sees someone who is energetic, who has a purpose and is a trans-woman.
Spiritsong, known to many as Spirit, was born a male, identifying as a heterosexual.
OSU Pistol Team sets sights on new competition
Members of the Oregon State University Pistol Team will be cleaning their guns and aiming for a good experience Sunday as they compete in a new league.
The Pistol Team is a competitive team made up of members from the OSU Pistol Club. The team will be attending an International Practical Shooting Confederation competition at the Albany Rifle and Pistol Club.

Group to travel during break for service project
Third-annual Alternative Spring Break travels to Santa Cruz to help with homeless garden
Three vans carrying a total of 25 students will soon travel to Santa Cruz, Calif., in conjunction with the Community Service Center's Alternative Spring Break from March 24 to March 31.
The group will work with the Homeless Garden Project, a non-profit agency dedicated to bringing people together from the community while practicing and teaching principles of economic and ecological sustainability, the group's Web site said.
