Eleven percent of the students at OSU are also parents, and ASOSU knows that. Stephanie Duckett, the ASOSU student parent advocate, has a job that revolves around making life for student parents better on campus. The university already has some programs that help, but there are more to come in the future, Duckett said.

Fairbanks showcases video art

Well-known artist Bill Viola's video exhibits are on display; he will also visit campus
"Bill Viola is one of the world's most well-known video artists, and this exhibit is a rare, world class experience," said Kirsi Peltomaki, professor of art history. Viola's works, including "Observance" and "The Reflecting Pool," will be on display in the Fairbanks Art Gallery until March 24.

A discussion regarding a comment seen by many as being racist, made by talk show host Rosie O'Donnell, was hosted by the Asian Pacific American Student Union and the Asian and Pacific Cultural Center on Monday evening. The issue centers around a brief impression which O'Donnell made on ABC's "The View," making a reference to Danny DeVito's earlier show appearance in which he was allegedly intoxicated.
