Senior Cambria Miranda could only do so much on Senior Day and the Beavers fell 5-1 to the Bruins Saturday afternoon, just one day after upsetting the No. 3 ranked UCLA team a day before at the OSU Softball Complex.
UCLA (45-7, 17-4 Pac-10) got on the scoreboard in the top of the first inning. Katie Schroeder scored on Megan Langenfeld's one-out single.
Oregon State (28-30, 6-14 Pac-10) was slow to react.
After Krista Colburn scored in the top of the third from Amanda Kamekona's double to right-center, the Bruins had a 2-0 advantage.
That was when Oregon State woke up. Alana Ford walked and junior Paige Lowe turned on the first pitch for a single and scored Ford to bring the game to 2-1. Lowe went 1-for-3 after a 3-for-4 performance just a day earlier.
The Bruins pushed their lead back to two runs in the top of the fourth. In the bottom half of the inning, lone senior Miranda led off with a walk, stole second and advanced to third on an Audrey Roderfeld fly ball but was left stranded.
The Beaver batter had a tough outing and could never catch up to UCLA's Anjelica Selden. Junior DeAnn Young singled in the fifth and Erin Guzy singled in the seventh but neither hit produced any runs. Both players finished 1-for-3.
Sophomore Kelly Dyer was charged with the complete game loss, moving her record to 19-25 overall for the season.
The Beavers conclude the 2008 season with a 28-31 overall, 6-15 Pac-10 record.
