Lauren Rinderknecht has signed a financial aid agreement to attend Oregon State and will join the Beavers' volleyball program in the fall, head coach Taras Liskevych announced Wednesday.

Rinderknecht, a 5-foot-11 outside hitter from Santa Barbara, Calif., is transferring from the University of Miami (Fla.). Rinderknecht appeared in 28 of Miami's 30 matches playing in 82 games as a freshman in 2005. In her collegiate debut with the 'Canes, she led the team in digs with 11. She later recorded her first double-double with 11 kills and a personal-best 14 digs against Clemson and finished the season with five double-digit dig performances. She set a career-high with 12 kills against Duke.

"Lauren is a great all-around athlete that had a late start in the sport of volleyball," Liskevych said. "She is an outstanding blocker who will redshirt her first year here, but will help our team in 2007 in our practices. We look for her to contest for a starting spot in 2008!"

A 2005 graduate of San Marcos High, Rinderknecht was a three-time all-league and earned All-CIF Division 2 as a senior. A four-year letterwinner, she was named Santa Barbara News Press Volleyball Athlete of the Year in 2004.

Due to NCAA transfer rules, Rinderknecht will not be eligible to play in 2007-08 and will have two seasons of eligibility remaining at Oregon State.
