OSU football player convicted of furnishing alcohol to a minor that resulted in death

Greggory Peat, 19, a sophomore in business administration, was convicted Monday of furnishing alcohol to a minor that resulted in the death of Lance Strickland in 2005.
Strickland died from complications from alcohol poisoning in a Finley Hall dorm room on Sep. 3, 2005. His blood-alcohol level was 0.43%
Peat, who pled not guilty to two charges of furnishing alcohol to a minor, was convicted on the first count - the other charge was dismissed.
Two former OSU football players were previously involved with the Strickland death as well.
John Ronnfelt and Mike Marks were each convicted on two counts of furnishing alcohol to a minor in April 2006.
Strickland was not a student at OSU, but was a high school teammate with Marks at Joseph High School.
Peat has to pay a $350 fine, perform 60 hours of community service, and cannot have alcohol or any intoxicants while under probation.
